Kopari Coconut Skincare Review!

Aloha!

I don’t know if its me now being a mom or getting older (just had another birthday, sigh) but I recently have wanted to upgrade my skincare and use good, quality products. After using the last of a moisturizer (which will not remain nameless, but it will come in my next post about disappointment products I have used in the past year) I was SO excited to hit “Get in my bag!” on the Kopari site last week. This company, which cleverly uses social media in a big way to get in my face (on my Instagram and Facebook feeds) with short little videos with different women (employees and models). All their products are based on organic coconut oil, which I already use on my body, hands and face so I knew it was a no-brainer. The line is sold but at Sephora and Ulta but the set I chose is only available online. Before hitting the purchase button, I read the reviews, all of which were good. So I signed up for their emails, got myself 15% off and clicked to purchase.

Here are my thoughts:

Cleansing Oil: I have never used a cleansing oil so I really have nothing to compare this to but I liked it. My initial thought was that it was going to be a heavy, greasy experience but it wasn’t at all – also I only needed one spray in my hand and it took all my make up off (which was a surprise).

Rose Toner: This is not your typical “toner” where you apply with a cotton round or ball. I sprayed on after cleansing and felt refreshed. You can also use it as a makeup setting spray, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Face Cream: This, in my opinion is the pièce de résistance of the whole set. I am pretty particular about moisturizers – I want to feel supple and dewy but not weighed down and greasy at the same time. This accomplishes how I want my face to feel and look and you don’t need to use that much product.

Lipglossy: I was pleasantly surprised by the lip gloss as I thought for some reason it would be tacky or heavy but its not. Its light but also super-hydrating and you only need a  small amount. I think you could also use this on cuticles or rough patches in a pinch.

Along with the set I received a free sample of the brand’s cult product, Coconut Melt. This, I wasn’t that impressed with only because it smells and behaves just like my coconut oil in a jar at home (which some of the reviews did mention). You can use this as a “multi-tasking” product as you can regular coconut oil – as a body oil, hair conditioner, baby balm, etc. I’m thankful for the free sample because I was interested in what it smelled and felt like, but now that I know I will not be purchasing that particular item in the future.

Final thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product set if you are looking for a new and easy facial regimen. If you could only choose one item to get, I would choose the moisturizer as I think its the standout product but I will most likely purchase these all again.
